Workshops - Demonstrations - Art Classes - Sketch & Stroll - Art Breaks
Glenn, an entirely self taught artist, was born in the small mining village of Drighlington West Yorkshire in 1950. Brought up in rural surroundings he developed an abiding love of the Yorkshire countryside. Marriage, children and a career postponed any artistic aspirations, but when his wife Merice developed ME he had to give up full time employment to look after her.
Now that he was only working part time he had the opportunity to realise one of his ambitions - to learn to paint Watercolour!
After suffering an accident in 1999, Glenn was unable to return to his former employment, so he used the time waiting for his operation to good effect by teaching himself different techniques and developing his skills to the point where he was able to become a professional artist in 2003. Glenn's work has since featured in many galleries around Yorkshire. Glenn's first one man exhibition at Burton Agnes Hall 2004 was a great success. Glenn was invited back as Artist in Residence 2005/2006/2007/2008 and has two paintings hanging in the hall's Long Gallery.
Whilst at Glenn Marshall Studio Gallery Glenn will be on hand most days to offer advice on 'How to achieve growth as a painter' which is the theme of one of his two day workshop. Glenn is also available for one day Fieldtrips/ workshops and is happy to do demonstrations.
Glenn has sold many of his works and has paintings hanging in private collections around the globe.
